1. What kind of signature Bryntor offers

Bryntor PDF Pro offers a local PAdES digital signature using a temporary self-signed X.509 certificate. It helps verify PDF integrity and detect later changes, but does not by itself prove the signer's identity or replace a certificate issued by a certification authority or qualified trust provider.

2. Legal basis

Electronic signatures may have legal effects depending on applicable law, the type of transaction, available evidence, and the parties' agreement. Bryntor does not claim this local mode automatically meets advanced, reliable, qualified, or government-signature requirements. Use an accredited provider and legal advice for regulated or high-value documents.

3. Declared identity

The Beta version does not send codes by email or SMS. The locally displayed code only confirms continuity of the same session; it does not verify ownership of the email address or a government identity. Name and email are recorded as user-declared data.

4. What is processed where

The document is processed on your device. Cryptographic signing and SHA-256 calculation happen locally. To attempt an RFC 3161 timestamp, the library may contact an external authority and send the required cryptographic request, not the complete PDF. The attached audit record explicitly distinguishes verified identity from local confirmation.

5. Retention and copies

You may request an unsigned copy of the document at any point before completing the process, and withdraw your consent to sign electronically at no cost, as long as it is before the signature is completed.

6. Notice

This policy summarizes the product's technical and legal design; it is not formal legal advice. Before relying on this signature for high-value or legally sensitive documents, consult a lawyer specialized in electronic commerce in your jurisdiction.
